I am currently employed as part of the equipment team at Intertek Melbourn, a GMP pharmaceutical lab specialising in HPLC and testing of inhalable drugs. I work with the quality assurance and laboratory teams to:• Organise the calibration, qualification and maintenance of a broad variety of laboratory equipment, particularly HPLC units, to a GMP standard. • Work can be routine or ad-hoc, and everything must be planned in conjunction with scientists and other members of the equipment and lab support teams to ensure that there is minimal disruption to ever-changing schedules and requirements. • Produce and maintain accurate equipment records for everything ranging from pipettes, local exhaust ventilation, temperature monitoring and multiple water purifying systems, as well as the storage of drug-products and samples.I started working at Intertek Melbourn in mid-2021 so that I could return to the scientific industry and learn more about the techniques and equipment that I have employed in the past. It is my goal to continue to develop these skills so that I can apply them in the future to further my career and education.

I supported a deafblind individual in their day-to-day activities, ranging from running a customer-facing business and administration to housework and leisure.

I was taken on as an summer intern between my first and second years of studying for a BSc in biomedical science at university. During this time I gained my first industrial science experience, working as a research assistant within the assay team.

I provided care to dementia residents in a care home. Duties included personal care, emotional support record keeping and housekeeping. The residents largely had early-onset dementia, so were physically active but required full supervision and guidance in every task. Patience and tactical thinking were essential to perform my role effectively.
