I am Aarush Aitha, an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). My academic and research interests lie in the field of machine learning and reinforcement learning, as well as their intersections with neurotechnology and assistive technology.Currently, I am working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research (BAIR), developing RL algorithms for autonomous drone control. I am implementing actor-critic algorithms with generalized advantage estimation, and creating a novel method of RL training using curriculum learning and teacher-student distillation. I am advised by Professor Avideh Zakhor, a renowned expert in computer vision and robotics.I also work as a Software Developer at Neurotech@Berkeley, a student-run club that explores the applications of brain-computer interfaces and neuroengineering. I developed software and built hardware for a blink-controlled RC car using EOG data streamed via Bluetooth from a Muse S headset and processed by Python code. I am currently working on a project involving the use of ML to classify separable actions using EEG data.I am passionate about using machine learning and neurotechnology to create innovative and impactful solutions for real-world problems. I am always eager to learn new skills, collaborate with others, and explore new domains.
