I worked at Octavia Project the previous two summers as a part-time teaching artist. I'm happy to resume work this summer as a lead teacher, instructing full-time, developing science and arts curricula, and adapting our innovative pedagogy to an online medium.

In 2009, I began gigging as a singer. I was the frontwoman for the Rose Lights for 3 years, working alongside core members Jason Shao (guitarist/bassist), Scott Klasek (pianist/marimba-ist/drummer) with contributions from Kevan Feyzi (bass), Julian Spindell (drums), Jacob Wolbert (drums/songwriting), Tyler Fassnacht (guitar), Emmanuel Contreras Guzman (guitar), and Nathaniel Javid (piano). We wrote jazzy piano-driven rock music, and released a studio album, "Before The Moment's Gone"​ in 2013.Then I started a modern rock band, Hyper Beam with guitarist Joshua Sanchez, bassist Matt Eggert, and drummer, Allie Ziegler. We released a 5-song EP called "World Destruction"​ in 2014.Now I play in a blues rock folk band called Tin Can Diamonds with Ben Strohbeen, Mitch Johnson and Dave Janus. We were nominated for a Madison Area Music Award for our album "​In the Rough."​I also play solo, and was recently selected to be one of Overture's Rising Stars for my solo performance of the song "Impression."

I worked as a teaching artist, supporting the programming of the Octavia Project. I also designed and executed weekly writing workshops with the students. The Octavia Project uses the creative power of speculative fiction to imagine new worlds. Our inspiration and namesake is Octavia E. Butler, who broke barriers in the traditionally white men’s world of science fiction to become an award-winning and internationally recognized author. Drawing inspiration from her practice which explores themes of racial, gender, and environmental justice, our Brooklyn teens participate in rich, interdisciplinary workshops that encourage critical thinking and build confidence by blending creative writing, art, science, and technology. Our free Summer Institute, which has run annually for the past five years, comprises of young women, trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and questioning youth aged 14-18.

I worked with a team of other editors to produce The Felt's 2019 print edition. I consolidated our ideas, wrote a Call for Submissions, and will continue to assist in the process of reading and selecting submissions for publication.

I managed a colloquium focused on bridging the gap between writing school and writing life. I scheduled events, ordered food, reserved space. I used Photoshop to make posters. I promoted events via email, and through other campus-wide communications. I was also the point of contact for the speakers, and was present on the day of the event, making sure it ran smoothly, keeping notes and sending follow-up emails.

I edited and updated the Pratt web site and copy-edited the Pratt web site, using the Pratt Style guide, HTML/CSS, while navigating a content management software, ExpressionEngine.

I produced stories from the pitching to production stages, in addition to directing the on-air show. I also wrote segment and program notes for the Wisconsin Public Radio webpage and for the podcasted versions of the program.

• Adapted a validated survey instrument for an R01 grant proposal. Grant reached final round of evaluation; status pending.• Put together a visually appealing and well-received keynote presentation for symposium “Building a Culture for Patient-Centered Team Based Care” for a state-wide audience of hospital administrators.• Hire, manage, supervise and mentor undergraduate staff and facilitate their connection with other HIP staff.• Project Coordination of seven research-driven collaborative working groups that meet once a month; facilitate scheduling of group meetings via WiscCal, Outlook, SharePoint, and email; keep group leaders in the loop about changes; maintain impeccable meeting notes; and meeting documents in SharePoint. • Conduct and provide support for health services research, including helping to design research questions by gaining knowledge of gaps in literature; author on two studies, publication pending. • Prepare manuscripts for final submission and improve internal training materials and documentation. • Investigated new purchases of information technology resources by creating a survey and doing research into different project management tools; prepared results displaying results of research to guide organization-level decision-making.

I tutor an eighth grader in Science, Math, and Writing for 2.5 hours a week. I use a whiteboard to illustrate science, math and writing concepts, and employ an exploration-based learning environment, and run reading drills every week.

"Who Shot the Serif?"I created and crafted weekly radio program centered around a theme, featuring music and media that launched discussion about theme, in a light-hearted and conversational manner, featuring interviews and in-studio guests. "Tin Can Diamonds" I selected music, centered around a theme, and provided history and trivia about independent American musical artists.

• Acted as a liaison between the daily student newspaper and the student body of UW-Madison, seeking to diversify the paper’s source material in order to reflect a broader view of what student life is on campus• Did primary investigative reporting resulting in news and features content; conducted interviews; and represented the newspaper from a public relations standpoint. Took excellent notes and transcribed interviews in real-time. • Received award from Society of Professional Journalists for story “Student group looks to rename Columbus Day, recognize it as 'Indigenous People's Day'”

• Studied the role of a transcription factor in viral expression of Epstein-Barr Virus in vivo (T-cells and B-cells) • Maintained cell lines (B-cells and T-cells), honed aseptic technique and tissue culture skills; performed transfections, luciferase assays, and DNA preps

I tutored a high school junior in SAT/ACT prep. I met with her for 3 hours a week to work through writing, science, math and language sections. I gave her one-on-one feedback about her work, in particular about the writing sections. After working with me, she showed significant improvement in scores on both tests.

• Planted and screened Arabidopsis Thaliana for Calcium expression using confocal microscope. Maintained mutant lines. • Made movies of roots to determine differences in root phenotype if knocked out for certain genes.
