👋 I am a civic data scientist and professor of quantitative methods.💼 Currently, I work between American University’s School of Communication, and the Investigative Reporting Workshop. ⏮️ I spent time building some of the country's most trusted COVID-19 data sets, and helped shape pandemic policy in the United States. Before that, I did cool things with data for governments, companies, and people.💻 I taught myself how to code while working overnight front-desk shifts as a Resident Assistant. Then, I made it my major. I can do full front end, back end, and data analysis work.📚 I have a B.S in Data Science & International Studies from American University, in Washington D.C. + a M.S. in Data Science, with a thesis concentration in Mathematics. My graduate thesis was on inequalities in federal government data.
