Creating and developing the Product Design practice in the Digital. This role was created as part of the digital transformation and switch to a product focused operating model. Initially this role was purely focused on growing the team into a department that could deliver out quality product designs for 6 product verticals in retail banking, commercial banking, and wealth management.After growing to 7 designers, we worked to establish best practices in design research, user testing, flow development, interaction design, accessibility, and product strategy. As the Design Manager I sat on the Product Strategy Group which was also comprised of the Product Management Manager, Go-to-market Manager, and representation from Engineering. In this capacity we were tasked with thinking near future strategy and planning future investment into all areas of digital experiences for the collective membership and employee stakeholders.

Over the space of 4 years I was involved in the creation of the first product team, delivering incremental value in sprint format and establishing the Product Management process at the Credit Union. Online Onboarding:-Developing a way to onboard, fund shares, explain collective ownership, and account selection process.-Managing two 3rd party teams critical to the development and implementation of the product.-Roadmapping the delivery of initially single signer accounts to joint accounts (including youth accounts) -Enhancing the KYC and AML functions on the digital application workflow and developing a 2 tier process for ID verificationOnline Appointment Booking:-Implementing appointment booking as a fast response to COVID-19 and the need to make business processes digital first. -Technology assessed, scoped, and delivered in 3 months-Working with multiple business stakeholders to create new business processes for the change. -Developing a phased approach to the implementation to reduce business disruption Wealth Integration: -Creating a more holistic homepage by integrating the wealth information of members into the retail online banking platform -Co-ordination of external dev team, conflicting environment staging and project priorities-Working with regulatory compliance officers to develop easy to read disclosure statements
