In my role at Plant-for-the-Planet, I lead the server and database design for key projects, with a highlight being the FireAlert app. This involved developing a robust server infrastructure from the ground up, focusing on scalability and future-readiness. My responsibilities include advanced backend development, working extensively with SQL, particularly in spatial queries using the POSTGIS extension. I am also involved in workflow automation and debugging, utilizing tools like n8n, BetterStack logger, POSTMAN, and Sentry. Additionally, I manage frontend development with ReactNative and oversee the deployment of applications via Vercel.Collaborating closely with a team of skilled developers and visionary management, my work on FireAlert is more than a professional achievement; it reflects my personal commitment to environmental sustainability. I taught 7th grade math as a lead teacher at North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, a Great Hearts Chartered school for a school year. As a year right after graduating college, this year was filled with experiential learning through observing other teachers and learning from my own mistakes. This experience has built in me a strong habit of good work ethics, time management, and skills like multi-tasking, accessing situation and implementing effective solutions (as each day in a life of a teacher comes with new challenges). And, most importantly, working with individuals with great hearts and teaching students who are eager to learn and are full of life has made me into a more empathetic and joyful person. Thank you, North Phoenix Prep.Here are few of my key experiences during my year in NPX:• I used pedagogies of engagement to facilitate thoughtful discussions by accessing individual and group psychology among diverse audience ranging from very motivated and engaged to uninterested and disruptive students. This enabled me to orient my approach in dealing with unique individuals and periods towards their equally unique needs. • I worked with a group of fellow 7th grade teachers and other math teachers to design engaging course activities, discuss ways to troubleshoot disciplinary issues within the classroom, design support mechanism for students with special needs.• I created quarterly evaluation reports for all students and quarterly advance notices for failing students; apart from these, I established and maintained communication with parents regarding student's success, decrease in grades and critical changes in student’s behavior.
