CurrentPerform a Level 1 and Level 2 Fitness-For-Service Assessment on penstocks to analyze the general condition and stresses and to determine the minimum required thickness, maximum allowable working pressure and remaining life of the P4 steel penstock.Create a transient model based on the existing turbine information and penstock alignment to validate the existing transient information.Perform a transient analysis using Bentley Hammer to analyze and validate the pressure surge in the existing penstocks and the water level variation in the existing surge tower.Develop a replacement option for the penstock by running transient simulations on different alignments involving the merger of two smaller penstocks into a single, larger penstock. Develop a design for the new surge tower and conduct a sensitivity analysis based on the surge tower and orifice diameter parameters and the head losses across the orifice.Conduct transient analysis on several operating scenarios and determine the governing cases.
