Architected and developed for rule system to identify systems at risk for known issues. The architecture utilizes Hadoop streaming to parse "phone-home" data and evaluate rules. The architecture is developed in python using mrjob. Also, developed a Django web app for validation of rule results and statistical reporting.Established an open, community-driven, agile process for development, testing, and deployment of new rules. The new process improved the turn-around time for new rule development from 4 months to 10 days. Rule quality was improved by several orders of magnitude. This open process allows for cross-functional development and testing of new rules. Developed a wrapper for a slow, single threaded Java process to be run in a massively parallel manner by building a python based wrapper to execute a Java program on dozens of compute nodes and manage the execution with Celery and RabbitMQ. The results were stored in a neo4j graph database.
