An accomplished senior executive and board advisor, I have served as a strategic advisor and corporate counsel to the world’s top business leaders in the Middle East for the past 15 years of my 25-year career. Currently, I am the founder and principal attorney at RAN Advisory, a boutique law firm representing corporate clients in diverse industries globally. Immediately prior, I was the only minority woman and non-Arab to reach the C-suite level amongst the 22 largest family groups in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. My conscience guides all of my actions. My transparency and humility have opened doors that cannot be unlocked by intelligence alone. When people meet me, they immediately understand that I am a person they can trust. As a result, I have been given unprecedented authority to represent the business interests of powerful people. I have served as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for two closely-held companies in Dubai and also sat on the Family Business Council as an official representative for the Al Rajhi family members. In brief, I transform global organizations to ensure long-term profitability and compliance. As Chief Legal Officer for Gemstone Real Estate Development, I led an IPO restructuring for all business entities in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. As a result, the Al Rajhi subcontracting sector was well-positioned to move from a closely-held company to a publicly traded enterprise in a design that allowed the family to choose whether they wished to IPO in Saudi Arabia or in the United Arab Emirates, or as a combined entity in the country of their choosing. In addition, I reorganized the company’s Qatar operations to improve oversight and corporate governance. I am regarded for possessing the empathy and experience needed to resolve complex business and legal disputes. Following the 2008 real estate crash, I acted on behalf of Tameer Holding Investment to restructure half a billion dollars in real estate assets. This involved intense negotiations between shareholders, stakeholders, and government leaders. Tameer not only continued to operate as a property developer (whereas many of its competitors shut down), but thrived. During this time of crisis, Tameer went on to deliver the tallest residential skyscraper in the world at the time – Princess Tower.
