WE MEET AT KILLARNEY HOUSE THURSDAY MORNINGS 7:30AM.JOIN US FOR BREAKFAST THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE!Rotary International is a worldwide volunteer organization committed to providing service above self. In more than 34,000 clubs worldwide, you'll find members volunteering in communities at home and abroad to support education and job training, provide clean water, combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, and eradicate polio. The 2013/2014 Rotary theme is to “Engage Rotary and Change Lives”!South County Rotary is engaged and we welcome your support. During the school year we fill backpacks each week with food for local schoolchildren to sustain themselves and their families over the weekend. Each month we make over 100 lunches for the Lighthouse Shelter. Every year we provide dictionaries to all local 3rd grade students, help provide backpacks and school supplies to children in need, and provide meals and gifts to needy local families. We support local scholarships and provide funds to local charities for worthwhile projects. Internationally we are engaged in a project in Malawi Africa where the addition of multiple water wells will greatly improve the quality of life for residents. In Liancourt, Haiti we are working to improve education by supporting the growth of a school and computer lab. Future plans include the development of a safe house for orphans and expanding the school to cover over 1000 kids.Nearly as important as our Club projects, our members very much enjoy the friendships and fellowship that develop. We make a point to “have fun”! Regular happy hours, social dinners, a golf tournament, a rubber duck race, baseball game, a boat cruise, board breaking, and team building allow members to network and expand the reach of Rotary in our area.
