Worked on student recruitment, curriculum planning, and school design for Latitude High 37.8 School, new public charter high school opening in Oakland, CA in Fall 2018.http://latitudehigh.org/

Spending the year embedded at High Tech High Chula Vista (HTHCV), during which I have:• Shadowed our school director Tim McNamara during student, teacher & parent meetings and supported him in day-to-day operations.• Co-led a project with school director to increase the number of students who qualify to earn the Cal Grant scholarship.• Designed and co-taught a semester-long project with a 12th grade humanities teacher Tere Ceseña and engineering teacher Phil Rowlandin which students used the design process to investigate problems of their choice and design research-based, human-centered solutions.• Co-led a daily advisory of 17 9th graders, including planning and facilitation of community-building & socioemotional learning activities.• Did research around sense of purpose and its intersections with students’ mental health and executive functioning skills–leading to thedesign of classroom- and advisory-based interventions to foster sense of purpose amongst students.• Redesigned a web platform (http://lilbitsofmagic.com/) through which teachers at HTHCV share best practices with each other.

• Worked as the sole engineer on the growth & marketing team for the business run by bestselling author Ramit Sethi.• Designed web applications, such as an interactive financial debt calculator, to drive new traffic to the web site.• Ran A/B tests and other growth experiments to increase traffic & conversation rates at various stages in the customer funnel.• Implemented the analytics architecture that allowed the company to track the effectiveness of various marketing campaigns.

Built a database system to organize content and testimonials for New York Times-bestselling author and personal finance expert Ramit Sethi.Curate a large volume of content to aid product development.

Developed in Javascript for the front-end for Youtube Mixer, the official Youtube application for Google+ Hangouts.Created multiple user interface designs for new application features, approved by full-time UI designers. Currently being implemented.Implemented a custom analytics dashboard to track highly customized statistics about the app’s usage patterns.

Provide technical support to all students in UC Berkeley-provided housing.Educate students about technology and IT security through workshops and outreach.

Ensemble Computing Portal Research team at UC BerkeleyWorked with Professor Dan Garcia and a small graduate and undergraduate research team to develop an online community for computer science educators to share CS-related teaching resources.Project is sponsored by National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Science Digital Library (NSDL) as an official NSDL educational pathway.

Wrote and implemented a build script that streamlined the build and feedback process for software engineers.Built a server to dynamically communicate with engineers the results of their builds in real time.

Recognized the potential to intersect my own skills and resources with my high school student body’s need for more awareness of school events...and co-founded a television station at my school, called MSJTV. Jerry Ting (friend and co-founder) and I built a team to produce a 10-12 minute show aired monthly in classrooms and online. Successfully aired 3 episodes before we graduated, and it is now a major organization at my high school, along with the school newspaper and yearbook. Led a 40-person leadership class that organized all major social events at my high schoolIndividually held responsibility for organizing and communicating with the 60+ on-campus student clubsImplemented various improvements in the functioning of ASB and the leadership team, and consequently the school itselfAs part of the Technology committee, created highly popular promotional videos for several school events (see youtube.com/Aatash for examples), which eventually led to the idea for MSJTV (see above)

Inititated the project to create a web site for my boy scout troopMade the site from scratch, using XHTML and CSS.
