About Aayan Sharma

Hi! My name is Aayan Sharma, and I’m a student at Newton South High School in Newton, MA. I hope to study computer engineering and entrepreneurship in college. I’m a tech entrepreneur and content creator passionate about educating and helping niche PC users find a custom computer that works best for their use case, most notably stock traders, engineers, content creators and software developers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, my family relocated to the Greater Boston area from Raleigh, NC. Stuck at home, I took advantage of the time and found a passion for computer hardware, at first gaming hardware. As my passion grew, I started my YouTube channel “GigaGeek”, where you’ll find videos including PC build guides, in-depth product reviews, and comparisons. As I explored the industry, I found niches in the PC market which at first was for stock traders. I created online content that educates people about PC hardware for stock traders, gaining traction and eventually expanding to other niches like CAD/CAM engineers, content creators, and workstations for intensive computational tasks.Simultaneously, I became invested in the process of scripting and filming my content, reinvesting money into filming equipment to make my channel reputable for high-quality and professional content (with lots of eye candy of course), something I’ve been quite proud of since the start of my channel. My next realization came when I discovered another passion of mine: starting something from scratch, from building my business to mastering social media content creation, out-of-the-box thinking, problem-solving, failing, finding solutions to problems, and the ability to speak and pitch effectively to customers was something I knew could be very valuable to me at a younger age. To share these insights, I launched the EntrepreNEWers workshop with my partner, Aidan John, who runs a successful shoe reselling business. We aim to teach elementary and middle school students in the Greater Boston area to identify problems, devise solutions, and pitch them in a Shark Tank-style environment. Our first collaboration was with a Montessori school, and we're grateful for the ongoing opportunity to mentor young minds.I discovered new passions through my projects. With GigaGeek and GigaGeekTech, I found a love for content creation and designing custom PCs for niche users. With EntrepreNEWers, I found another interest for promoting the entrepreneurial mindset. I look forward to expanding these in college, exploring new avenues, and continuing to explore and inspire.

Unseen Apartments is a startup that provides virtual apartment tours to simplify the rental process for those unable to visit properties in person. The company connects renters with local representatives known as "Seers," who conduct in-person tours on behalf of prospective tenants. As an intern at Unseen Apartments over the summer and now, I've had the opportunity to learn about the rental process and pain points in the New York metropolitan area such as the difficulty of securing an apartment without in-person tours, rental scams, and rental discrimination by brokers who often favor in-person applicants over remote ones.I took a multi-faceted approach to discovering these pain points, including talking to New Yorkers, reading industry articles, and diving into social media to see what issues tenants face, who's facing them, and how to properly address them.Currently, my work involves understanding the target audience and developing a social media marketing strategy to guide potential renters through the funnel and into the service.
