Windows StoreLed the Store Services PM team to help deliver the Windows Store from the ground up. The Store was launched in Oct 2012 and continues to grow at a very rapid pace. The Windows Store is used by over 500 million user’s every day. Some of my key accomplishments have been:• Lead and helped build a very talented and agile team of PM. The team was established and functioning within 6 months.• Design and deliver a highly scalable and robust web service layer of the Windows Store. This layers powers the browse, search & recommendations experience in the Store.• Drove the global rollout and world readiness strategy for the Store which laid down the plan to launch the Store worldwide in phases as well as add language support as we go. The store is now available in over 200 markets worldwide and support over 100 languages. Soon developers from over 190 markets will be able to sell apps in the store. Some of the key deliverables are:• Designed and delivered the ‘Devices and Printers’ feature which was a key feature to streamline devices experience with PCs for users.• Played a pivotal role in delivering Windows Media Play for Windows 7.• Key contributor in delivering Windows Radio Guide for Windows 7.Video Market Place project for XBOX 360Managed and provided critical leadership for the Video Marketplace project for XBOX 360 (code name Pegasus). This was a highly visible cross group project with a much stretched timeline. The store had to be launched on 1 year anniversary of XBOX 360 and ahead of Sony PS3’s launch. Key accomplishments include:• Worked with third party vendors to setup up processes and quality checks for them to deliver metadata to Microsoft. Helped vendor to establish a process and a working relationship with various studios.

WMIS Data WarehouseStepped up to take on additional responsibility as a WMIS Data Warehouse PM when PM responsible for this project left the team. Ramped up very quickly to understand the Data Warehouse architecture and take on ownership of an overly complex and convoluted DW system with very little documentation and monitoring in place. Accomplishments include:• Established a stable WMIS DW team when there never existed one in the past. The team includes dev, test, DBA, PM & support personals from Ops. Ensured that there is enough knowledge transfer within the team and also within the dev, ops and test team to backup the DW resources if required.• Quickly identified the issues and pain points with the existing system and made a DW proposal along with a road map to the WMIS leadership team.• Worked with Ops and WMIS leadership to create a test and dev env for DW. This also enabled us to harden the DW production env.• Constantly mentoring a junior team to keep them focused with a common goal.Infra structure for new DW system for WMISLed the team through M1 for Phase 1 of the design of DW Infrastructure. Phase 1 will design and handle the first step of any DW system which is data collection. Data for WMIS DW system primarily comes from IIS logs which are collected from various IIS servers. Accomplishments include:• Gathering requirements and pain points from various users of the existing DW system and translating them into key requirements for the new infra structure.• Working with the team through various brain storming sessions to come up with a design proposal.

Platform Designer (PD) - Oct 2003 till March 2005:• Provided critical leadership and direction in establishing and mentoring the MDEX Development / Technical team in Milwaukee and Bangalore. Responsibilities include designing and driving the team to deliver the first ever remote service platform (Insite2) that enables connection to all products across GEHC to a single enterprise solution within a year. Insite2 will enable more than $17 MM annually in benefits for the first 7 adopting products itself.• Led the Global Services Technology (GST) Ready Audit Yellow team to successfully complete the audit of 3 critical programs within GST. This audit has been very important since the past 3 years in achieving readiness for ISO Audit.• Designed and delivered a highly available, load balanced and robust deployment for the Insite2 platform. Worked tirelessly with Global Information Technology (GIT) team and the vendor to continuously improve the environment.Lead Software Designer (LSWD) – Aug 2002 to Oct 2003:• Led the design & coordinated the Data Services effort as a LSWD to drive VISION in the team, looking for areas of reuse, getting buy in, creating team schedules, driving program directions, mentoring team members for their future roles, often working under stretch goals and with unclear requirements. Also setup a Standard Operating Mechanism for Data Services (new platform idea introduced in GST).• Led the DFSS/p project to design and prototype Data Access Platform. DAP is the next generation of Data Access component within GE that will provide a middle ware to all GST programs to talk to various data sources (DB, mainframes, VISTA, legacy system, etc.). This project will reduce the development and maintenance cost for all GST programs. Providing a centralized ownership will reduce risk of integration with Vista.

Software Engineer: Worked on the development of the website ‘www.notwired.com’. Notwired is a complete web based and wireless solution that helps in scheduling meetings; sending reminders, make bill payments, email, etc. It was developed using Java, Java script, DHTML, Java Servlet.

Software Engineer: Worked on the design, development and testing of various software systems:• Web development of sales system for Kao Corporation, Japan. The project involved retrieving and updating data on the main frame• Worked as part of research team to carry out extensive research on three-tier client server Architectures such as CORBA, Java RMI, Applet Servlet, and mentored others with these technologies.• Web development of project tracking system (PTR system) for LTITL, the project involved tracking the progress of the various stages in the development cycle of a software project
