As Aviarc Australia separated from its New Zealand parent company and became Thacient Software, I stepped up as the consulting practise lead, providing direction and decision making on all aspects of solutions including UX, Business Analysis, Solution Architecture, technology, implementation and roll-out. In this role I:• Was lead consultant on all Thacient engagements, leading small 3 person teams to deliver proof of concepts coupled with detailed, deliverable, testable requirements via intensive 3 to 4 week agile consultations, for customers in insurance, government and private health insurance.• Built mobile and desktop web app UX prototypes, UI components, and framework extensions.• Provided direction and decision making on all aspects of solutions including UX, business analysis, solution architecture, technology, implementation and roll-out.• Oversaw the introduction of tooling and processes resulting in reduced costs associated with requirements gathering while increasing the quality of requirements.• Worked with head of delivery to improve project estimation and prioritisation reducing potential overruns and losses.• Drove a 'product management' focus over the traditional one-off project delivery of old.On the hands-on technical side, I• Used the Aviarc platform and Graphite tooling to mock UX prototypes, • Built components for Aviarc using HTML, JS, CSS and Java, with libraries including JQuery, Semantic-UI, and Lodash• Built javascript data-binding, internationalisation, and animation libraries and wrappers to extend the Aviarc capabilities.• Handled bulk data population, updates, and retrieval with custom Meteor based utility apps and SQL scripts.

As the senior BA in Australia for Aviarc, I reviewed and improved the elicitation and documentation practises to provide better direction and clarity on projects realising benefits including improved accuracy of project estimation and costing, better scope control and higher client satisfaction. I gathered and documented the business and functional requirements for system implementations and enhancements on projects for Insurance and Private Health Insurance customers.

I joined the ME Bank Transformation Program to replace their core banking platform with Temenos at a difficult time for the BA team. In a matter of weeks I familiarised myself with the project and industry and took the lead on business requirements gathering workshops with stakeholders across all areas of the business, documenting the requirements on aspects of banking ranging from single customer view, statement generation, financial processes and clearing, to securitisation. I undertook process and system analysis, reviewed and provided input to business requirements, functional requirements, technical specifications and helped improve the BA team processes.

MWC set itself the goal of smoothly transitioning all their desktop applications to a new Windows 7 SOE with minimal disruption to users, but realised it lacked clear understanding and documentation of the extensive range of applications in use. I performed analysis and helped scope the work, then assumed the role of team lead and coordinator driving the business engagement, application analysis, vendor engagement and UAT required to prepare all business applications for use with Windows 7.This effort included leading a team of 6 analysts, reporting and completing data mapping for ~400 applications against ~2000 computers, developing and documenting management processes and working with vendors to get applications ready, and seeking out savings on licensing costs and software maintenance.

GBCA required assistance identifying business requirements for a new system to improve information tailoring and distribution, and work management around some of their core processes. I took the lead guiding GBCA through a process to explore their requirements and then documented the outcomes.

A unit in the Department of Treasury and Finance needed a system migration project scoped and planned. I was charged with bringing together the project requirements and establishing the project approach, activities, effort and timeline as well as detailing risks, current issues, and resourcing requirements.

Foster's needed final UAT on reporting elements related to a new CRM with fast turn-around and providing communication between business and the developers. I arrived onsite and quickly familiarised myself with the new system and unfamiliar technology, finalised the UAT, pushed for fixes, and built WEBI reports all within a 4 week period.
