Head - Centralized Pricing Team At Itron
I am heading the Global Primary Pricing team at Itron comprising of pricing analysts from all geographies. My team is responsible for deal modeling, margin analysis, cash flow analysis, quote generation, pricing notes management as well as preparation of deal financial summaries.
Head - India Deal (Pursuit) Desk At Itron
I am heading the India Deal Desk team at Itron, comprising of proposal managers, proposal writers as well as pricing analysts. My team caters to pursuits pertaining to EMEA, APAC and NAM and provides proposal management and proposal writing support, solutioning support as well as pricing/ commercial support. My team works on proposals encompassing the entire portfolio range across all available solutions and services. Solutions are mainly focused on Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Automated Meter Reading (AMR), Analytics & MDM, Distributed Energy Management, Distribution Automation, Grid management and Smart Cities. Pricing Analysts in my team are responsible for pricing the deals with the intent of increasing the deal gross margin. They are responsible for building commercial deal models based on the price-to-win. They are also responsible for interpreting the pricing clauses in the contracts and for ensuring accurate revenue modeling based on those clauses. The pricing is done through excel based cost and revenue modeling tools as well as CPQ tool. Proposal Managers in my team are responsible for end-to-end management of proposals throughout their lifecycle. From writing draft executive summaries along with sales leaders, project managing the pursuit and eventually submitting the proposal, my team acts as a true sales enabler. Proposal writers in my team are responsible for managing the pursuit library, artifacts creation, content refresh, responding to the generic questions in the RFX, providing a first draft of the solutioning document (which the solution architects then take forward), responding to compliance questions in the RFX through proposal automation tools (including Loopio). I am also contributing towards the deployment of a new CPQ tool (for pricing and quote generation) that the company is implementing.
Manager - Proposal Center Of Excellence, Strategic Engagement Team
- Business Development – shaping the deal along with Sales Executive and the Solution Architect.- Building responses for strategic proposals (deals with TCV greater than USD 50 Million) and making sure that the response is in compliance with Cognizant frameworks for Large strategic deals.- Responding to deals that have “Cloud” focus and assisting the solution architect with cloud focused content.- Understanding the deal context from the Sales Executive, understanding the RFx and then working with the solution architects to ensure that customer requirements are completely captured.- Involved in identifying the Win Strategies and then translating them into win themes for the consumption of the proposal writers.- Responsible for writing Executive Summaries (including win themes and value propositions) for the strategic deals in collaboration with the Account Executive.- Ownership of the strategic deals repository and making sure that the content in the repository is up to date.- Reviewing the deals financials and solution and providing guidance to the bid team in this regard.- Gathering insights on the competitors involved with respect to the proposal being pursed. Insights pertaining to incumbent as well as challenging competitors are gathered.- Providing training on various bid management concepts to the bid management community.
Healthcare Bid And Pursuit Manager
Identifying the bid team, following up with them, creation of bid plan, reviewing the solution that comes from each team, writing the proposal response, integrating the solution, reviewing the resource loading, setting up the proposal repository in order to maintain version control and ease of distribution of bid documents to the team etc. are some of the key activities that I perform as a bid manager. I work with multiple functions like Finance, Legal, etc. and make the team follow a disciplined schedule in order to ship the responses to customer RFPs in time. I have worked on Application Maintenance and Support (AMS) proposals as well as on Application Development proposals. Actively involved in the creation of SOWs as well as MSAs. I was also able to utilize by Business Analyst skills when I got to assist the account team (for a large healthcare payer account) with the Business Requirements Document (BRD). I was directly involved in requirements elicitation process with the customer. I am well versed with R programming and have strong understanding of the fundamentals of statistics (Regression, Clustering, etc.) I have helped the company in winning multiple new logos. I have worked on deals with TCV in excess of 50 Million USD. I have been nominated for the “Emerging Leaders” Program.
