Na de opleiding ben ik aangesteld in de functie van Administratief Toezichthouder voor controles op de aanvaardbaarheid van de douaneaangiften en het vaststellen of het bedrijf heeft voldaan aan de voorwaarden van de verleende douanevergunning. Dat houdt in Controls & Audits op Import/Export en veiligheidsprocessen, het maken van risico analyses, opstellen van risicoprofielen en vervolgens actieplannen en handhaving.

General information:Since 1991 I have been working in the field of Global Logistics and Trade Compliance at various levels. I have enjoyed building my knowledge and experience working for many different organizations, in many different disciplines. These disciplines have included imports; exports; warehousing; air-, road-, and ocean freight; general logistics and Trade Compliance Programs. In these positions I have been able to obtain a wide general knowledge of logistic operations and Trade compliance. Over the years I have come to be very specialized in Customs & Foreign Trade regulations.Professional Experience:Currently I am performing the position of EMEA Trade Compliance Analyst within Geodis Supply Chain Optimization. The position includes but not limited the below: Supporting the RFQ’S and Business changes and implementations Ensuring compliance with US and local regulations affecting international trade  Subject matter expert for US Export regulations and EU Boarder Protection Regulations, including knowledge of customs valuation and classification under HTS, C-TPAT and FTA. functional knowledge of EU and local Customs controls and export regulations liaising with government Customs agencies and other authorities Supporting global policies and standards for trade compliance including valuation, commodity classification, BTI’s,, country of origin determination, exports and trade security programs (e.g.: C-TPAT, AEO and Horizontal Supervisor program)

 C&FT controls the appointed Logistic Service Providers on matters of compliance with applicable; customs rules and regulations. Also, as the only location in the EU, IBM Nederland B.V. still takes ,care of it’s own, monthly customs, VAT and Statics entries; C&FT perform the compliance testing of the LSP’s, on issues such as data processing, correct and complete filing, proper handling of customs documents. Full supply chain control on trade compliance; Maintain and monitoring of system controls as part of the outsourced customs en foreign trade processes to ensure the KPI; Performing Controls and audits to correct Vat-imposts for non EU import, export or intra-EU transactions; Draw up and submit of the customs objections, appeals and refunds to the customs authorities; Draw up and submit several reporting (VAT, Intrastate and Customs); Liaison to Dutch Customs for all branches in The Netherlands; Back-office for customs-problems experienced by customers; Advisory function to both internal and external customers in case of changing legislation; Advisor for IBM C&FT countries outside The Netherlands and EU regarding procedures.
