UTDesign is UT Dallas's senior design program for students studying an engineering discipline. For my computer science capstone, I collaborated in a team of 6 to design and develop an online tutoring application completely from the ground-up under the faculty supervision of Dr. Pushpa Kumar. Our finished application allows users to register as a tutor or a student, enables students to search and book appointments with instructors, and boasts a 2FA-secure login system.Using Google Firebase as our all-in-one cloud backend, my duties involved leading the front-end engineering subteam with interface development and state management via React.js, MaterialUI, and CSS, as well as spearheading UI design with Figma. Also included in my responsibilities was managing the project via Jira and Confluence in a completely scrum-based life cycle, demonstrating my expansive and passionate knowledge of agile methodologies. Such actions included organizing refinement meetings, retrospectives, and pair programming sessions. Additionally, I had the chance to showcase my Git expertise and help my teammates in managing merge conflicts, creating pull requests, troubleshooting Git issues, and using Git Graph to track merges. In the end, this project gave me invaluable software engineering experience and was a fitting final project to cap my Bachelor of Science in computer science.

Simplified Business Lines Experience - Spring/Summer 2023

Telematics, Drive Safe and Save (Android) - Summer/Fall 2022• Developed home screen widget dashboard displaying insurance and vehicle travel information to 5 million+ users nationwide.• Implemented comprehensive unit tests to maintain 100% test coverage using JUnit and Mockito.• Initiated urgent refactor of 15+ crucial Kotlin modules in line with SOLID programming principles, boosting site reliability.• Utilized Firebase Crashlytics to investigate and resolve outstanding backlogged bugs affecting 60-72% of Samsung phone users.• Led multiple agile code reviews to ensure code was optimized and clear prior to production, reducing long-term quality concerns.

• Leveraged knowledge in network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS) and wireless area networks to conduct studies on firewall strength and packet loss mitigation in smart vehicles.• Researched impact of historical network protocols (ARCNET, Token Ring, AppleTalk) on modern computer networks.• Utilized findings to design Bodyguard, an internet-based vehicle security system paired with a mobile application via use of a WAN sensor system, submitting findings and solution design to Cisco Innovation Challenge (2nd place awarded).
