I have had a diverse healthcare experience as my first job was working as a file clerk in a local family practice. I obtained my CNA certification and utilized this as I completed my BSN through University of Indianapolis. I have now been an ICU nurse for 13 years and have completed my master’s degree through Frontier Nursing University, successfully passing the AANP Board certification exam. Since this time, I have continued pursuing my DNP degree while also working with a dialysis company under an FDA EUA. This has exposed me to yet another facet of healthcare including medical device use, sales, education, and clinical support – and I have loved it! I was part of the team which worked synchronously with providers in understanding order set and appropriate use, staff and patients in supporting use of the device, as well as being part of upper management meetings in order to increase revenue and improve patient outcomes. I have had informal involvement with a medical device company over my entire career as an ICU nurse consulting with their sales representatives, clinical support team, as well as consulting with their marketing, research and development, and engineering teams on a regular basis. I have an innate ability to build trusting relationships with those around me, allowing me to both anticipate and identify clinical needs. I feel these attributes coupled with my strong ICU background are invaluable assets. I am confident in my critical thinking and decision-making skills as I’ve found increasing ways to incorporate all that I’ve learned in my interactions with customers and colleagues alike.I feel confident in my ability to order pertinent diagnostics and interpret them. My clinical time was divided between a full-service family practice office and traveling to various facilities to see and assess clients who could not make it to the office. Throughout clinical, I had experience in joint injects, cryotherapy, pelvic exams, and performing I&Ds. I have maintained my CCRN certification for 11 years. My various experiences have generated the self-motivation I need to always push myself above and beyond requirements, maintaining lifelong learning, and understanding the importance of remaining flexible yet dependable. I am a quick, self-driven learner and I work great independently as well as with a team.
