Supporting the 2012 Epic upgrade within the UMHS. I worked at the MCIT Service Desk supporting end users. I was fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to shadow MCIT employees from several different departments throughout the internship. I spent time at our hospitals, in our clinics, at the command center, at the Service Desk and at our IT headquarters located at Arbor Lakes and Domino's Farms. One particular highlight was the 3 days that I spent in the CVC ICU with Dr. Andrew Rosenberg our CMIO. It was a once in a lifetime experience to spend time with someone who is truly at the epicenter of where medicine and technology come together.
