1. Improve SQL & Oracle environments by either improving current processes or creating new ones. 2. Evaluate new products and technologies that can: (a) improve performance, (b) streamline operations, (c) secure systems and (d) adopt innovative technologies and processes3. Lead Big Data initiative at OXY. Evaluate NoSQL and Data Lake technolgies and recommend products and a roadmap. (a) Evaluate NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra etc.. Learn pros and cons of each database, their use cases, ease of use, implementation, product road map and other features and make a recommendation. (b) Install and evaluate Data Lake platform vendors such as HortonWorks, Cloudera etc. Evaluate products within the platforms such as HBase, Kafka, NiFi, IoT Hub and many more. Recommend products that best meet our use cases. (c) Provide an implementation road map. (d) Lead project to convert SQL DW to Azure Synapse. (e) Lead DBA team to be able to handle cloud technologies. Provide training to get the team up to speed on Azure and Azure DevOps (f) Coordinate with internal and external resources to provide training, evaluate and develop architecture plans for IoT and Big Data use cases.
