Ali Basiri is the founder of the Chaos Engineering team at Netflix where he works on ensuring Netflix's availability through a series of resiliency initiatives such as Chaos Automation Platform (ChAP), Chaos Monkey, and FIT. Prior to that, Ali worked on Netflix’s active-active regional failover capabilities, and developed Citrus, a distributed load testing tool using production traffic. Prior to Netflix, Ali was the first employee at PagerDuty where, among many responsibilities, he worked on PagerDuty’s resiliency effort to guarantee an at-least-once notification delivery. Ali is a co-author of the Principles of Chaos and the O’Reilly Chaos Engineering book.
