I was a personal assistant and front desk lady. It was fun and I enjoyed my time here, although I wasn't the right fit. I am a go getter and not the type to sit back and let things fall as they may. I discovered inconsistencies in accounting and record keeping practices. From my time in various finance and accounting positions I alerted my superiors, my suggestions were not exactly taken into consideration. To avoid verbal abuse, I refused a managerial reassignment and I was promptly fired. I am ok with that and went on to run my own company ethically and responsibly, and make way more than $12/hr.

Worked with government compliance departments to deliver programs and millions of records from the insurance companies of Assurant Specialty Property, American Reliable Insurance Co. and associated subsidiaries to comply with legal reporting requirements to agencies such as DMV's, FEMA, Homeland Security, NOAA, and ICE, etc. for all 50 states, mashups of over 27 different databases, in over 6 different programming languages. Some going back to the 1960's and the founding of the company.Special projects included forensic database structural integrity studies liaising with the IT manager and software engineers, liaison to the compliance department. Worked closely developing valuation models for M&A due diligence and managed the data dump site running defense and fixing security and software issues under the guidance of the VP of Actuarial for Assurant Specialty Property.Adept at handling high level executives and their handlers with ease and consistency, I treat everyone the same, with the respect and courtesy that I would want to experience myself, even if I were only a low paid personal assistant to the executive assistant. Nice goes a long way. Although Assurant wasn't the right fit, I learned valuable lessons in how to deal with people and be nice and get my work done on time, and if I couldn't I respectfully let people know. They were cool about it and extensions are not only for getting out of final exams in University.

Hired as a part-time employee, over time I increased my level of involvement and responsibility within this civil engineering consulting firm. In addition to customer service duties, I was responsible for project budgeting, billing, lead the production of proposals and identified new markets.Key Contributions include:—First point of contact for perspective clients, for both property owners as well as public entities and private corporations; Developed innovative strategic marketing plans; Coordinated proposals in response to Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) as well as letter proposals for private clients; Managed costs through project budgeting and weekly budget reports to the Finance Director.

Under the supervision of Assistant Director of the School of Theater and Film, Professor F. Miguel Valenti, I lead a team of volunteers to produce a fashion show/ethics & fashion multimedia presentation for the conference’s Saturday night main event. Key Contributions include:Raised over $30,000 in in-kind donations in a 2 month period leading up to the conference; Managed a team of 5 volunteers; Assisted marketing interns with the promotional campaign for the conference.

Under the direct supervision of the office manager, I performed front desk duties as well as assisting the Accounting, Human Resources, and Facilities Management departments. Responsibilities included: Provided customer service to ensure that the most current information and assistance information was made available to Student Non-Profit Organizations and other departments within the corporation; Assisted Office and Accounting managers during the Student Organizations’ annual budget proposal period; Facilitated employee appreciation activities.

As a part-time staff member, myself and another associate assisted five architects and one civil engineer and one structural engineer. My responsibilities included: Wrote and coordinated production of periodic company newsletters for clients and communities within project areas; Assisted architects and engineers with project deliverables; Distributed updated plans to city building departments, clients, and sub contractors.
