Responsibilities as an OCC Traffic Controller (TC) –During Normal/Degraded Operation :Control train operations on Mainline and related ATS system operations and monitor Large Display Panel to check headways and adherence to time table.Interchange of trains between Depot and Mainline.Monitor and control train reversal at terminal stations.Co-ordinate with Versova Station Controller during Depot entry & Depot exit of trains.During Emergency Operation :Take first measures to prevent subsequent accidents and control train movement in the affected section (control access to adjacent tracks, control of following trains, train protection, etc).Perform traffic adjustment (modification of train schedules, starting provisional services, single line operation).Control maintenance vehicle movement on mainline.Control and monitor train rescue operation.Collect first information from site and update Chief Controller of the occurrences.Responsibilities as an OCC Depot Controller (DC) –During Normal/Degraded Operation :Control shunting operations in Depot. Instruct Pointsman for necessary route setting as per requirement.Control depot entry and exit of trains.Movement of train in non-energized section in Depot with utmost precaution.Keep records of Kilometer reading of all trains.Co-ordinate with Rolling Stock Supervisor for RS maintenance activities, train washing schedule, heavy cleaning schedule etc.Inform Train Pilots about route setting, entry track number, stabling track and authorize entry /exit of the train in Depot.Control and monitor stabling and shunting of trains within Depot.Control maintenance work in Depot.During Emergency Operation :Inform and coordinate with Divisions of other Directions about the situation.Plan/co-ordinate for induction/withdrawal of trains, if required.Act as One point of contact with Rolling Stock Maintenance Supervisor and Traffic Manager.Control Depot entry/exit of trains/maintenance vehicles.

Responsibilities as a Station Controller (SC) / Train Pilot (TP) –Responsible for safe and efficient operation of Stations and Trains.Responsible to the Manager-Station in maintaining high standard of services to passengers.Responsible for setting, clamping & padlocking points on Main Line as a part of route setting & ensuring the same to Train Pilot or Traffic Controller whenever situation demands.Responsible for the management of crowd at station.Opening & Closing station at the pre-defined time.Ensuring availability and proper functioning of all types of equipments at station.Monitoring of station equipments defects, making entry in SAP & reporting to concerned division.Providing assistance to the passengers with special attention to the elder or differently able passengers.Liaison with the Marketing & Sales Direction, Security & Housekeeping to avoid any inconsistencies in the management of the stations.Liaison with local authorities like Fire Brigade, Ambulance, Police whenever situation demands.Evacuation of station/trains whenever called upon to do so between stations or at the station.Providing information to passengers using PA/PIDS system.Providing First Aid to passenger and call for Ambulance if required.Rescue of passenger stuck in the Lift as soon as possible.Maintaining documents and records. Management of outsourced employees of Operation direction at the station.Dealing with sub-contractors, external agencies & attending VIP visits at station.Handling Degraded or Emergency situations.Driving train in a proper & safe manner with due regard to signals, speed limits & schedules whenever called upon to do so.Reporting technical & operational faults & performing First intervention in case of minor fault in train.Responding to emergency conditions or breakdowns following applicable rules.
