• Position: CO FOUNDER & GROUP CFO• Experience in Property Sector: 20 years• Brief:I have over two decades experience in the real estate investment, procurement, letting & management sector, specialising in the low-income housing market.My academic background in accounting & finance enables me add value in various areas of my current roleMy role as part of the Caridon group has evolved over the 14-year span encompassing many positions including portfolio manager, chief operating officer & Group MD. This has given myself wide exposure to many aspects of the business beginning at the grass rootsMy key strengths include attention to detail, financial diligence, deal structuring & negotiation. History In 2003 I began a lettings and management company introducing to the market the pioneering concept of guaranteed rent. The business model was simply to lease an entire property from a landlord then subdivide the property into a HMO, allowing for low-income individuals to access private sector properties that were affordable & convenient to manage financially as rent was collected on a weekly basis.With a vast landlord contact base I was able to deal find easily which led to many acquisition, refurbishment & development opportunities.In 2009 the opportunity arose to collaborate with a former landlord to help start up a private sector company solely dedicated to providing social housing. I already had the experience of managing low-income individuals, financial acumen & knowledge of running a business in the sector which made me an ideal partner to an entrepreneur with massive growth aspirations & access to large volume of properties & tenants in the public sector My role in Caridon in the early years was to help create the infrastructure & management platform that would underpin our future growth.Leading up to 2015 I played a pivotal role in preparing the business for receipt of institutional funding. The said funding secured in 2015 allowed Caridon to develop over 1200 units over the next 6 years for general needs housing all in the public sector providing much needed accommodation to tenants who would otherwise find it difficult to access PRS In 2020/21 I played a lead role in structuring a sale & leaseback transaction involving over 800 apartments spread over 6 building’s to an institutional buyer valued at over £100m. This transaction allowed Caridon to free itself of indebtidness to external lenders / shareholders I continues to work at Caridon as Group CFO overlooking all aspects of commercial growth & financial diligence.
