ABBAS is a 1991 graduate of Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria. He also holds a masters degree (MBA) from Bayero University Kano. He was assigned to the accounts department of Nicotes Oil Services Ltd in Portharcourt for the National Youth Corps service. On completion, he joined the services of Commercial Trust Bank Ltd, where he worked in various capacities between 1993 to 1997.Abbas moved to the United Bank For Africa (UBA) in 1997 as an Assistant Manager and worked in the Inspection Zonal Offices in North West and North East Nigeria. In 2001 he moved to FSB International Bank Plc and worked in the Internal Control Department where he was posted to Kano Branch as Resident Internal Auditor. In 2003, Abbas took up a new appointment with NUB International Bank as a Deputy Manager and Head of Operations in Kaduna main Branch. He also worked in the Internal Audit Department and rose to the rank of Senior Manager before the Banking Sector Consolidation of 2006. Following the Merger of NUB, Inland Bank and First Atlantic Bank, he was nominated as a member of the consolidation operations strategy driving team to carry out due diligence on the records of the participating banks leading to a successful consolidation following which his services was retained as a senior manager and team lead in the Audit Department of the Bank that emerged (FINBANK). He moved to Unity Bank in 2009 as Manager Audit where he rose to become the Group Head of Compliance as a Senior Manager. In 2011, Abbas was engaged by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to bring his experience to bear in the Internal Audit Department as a Senior Auditor and Sub Team Lead where he works to date. Abbas is 49 years old. He was born in Kaduna in 1966 at Hayin Banki in Kawo – Kaduna North LGA. He was turbaned Tafidan Hayin Banki da Jama’an Jauro in recognition of his meritorious service to his Community. He is married with children. His hobbies include reading and travelling.

Abbas was also given the task of developing an audit process for the Shared Services Office. Following the success of that assignment Abbas was also assigned to develop an audit process for the Nigerian Mortgage Refinancing Corporation in 2014. -
