I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Civil Engineering in 2000 (University of Tehran, Iran). I completed an MSc in Structural Engineering (Iran) in 2003, and then worked as a civil/structural engineering consultant/specialist/manager and a Chartered Structural Engineer in the Iranian construction industry until 2011, when I returned to academia (at the University of Bath, United Kingdom) as an Research Assistant & PhD Candidate in January 2012. Working as Research Assistant, my PhD project, entitled “Investigation of moment redistribution in FRP-strengthened RC beams and slabs”, was awarded £334k research budget by the UK-EPSRC, which was then followed by a short Post-PhD research at the same department.In 2016, I joined IAU (Iran) as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering & Construction Management. I was promoted through to 'Head of Construction Management' in Feb 2018, and 'Head of the Department of Civil Engineering & Construction Management' in Dec 2022.
