About Abbas Dehghan

I am working as a reader in cardiometabolic disorders at the department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Imperial College London. My main research interest is molecular determinants of cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes. In past 8 years I have used molecular epidemiologic approaches including genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics and metabolomics to unravel novel risk factors for cardiometabolic disorders. Topics of my ongoing research projects includes inflammation, type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease, hemostatic factors, thyroid function, and vascular aging. In addition, I am interested in the role of microRNAs in cardiometabolic traits and disorders.
