Dr. Abbas Mahmoudabadi was born on July 27, 1972, in the Iranian southern city of Sirjan. He served the high school education in Ebne-Sina and moved to the Isfahan University of Technology in September 1990. He graduated as the top-ranked student of BSc. in Industrial Engineering in 1994 and immediately started MSc. at Tarbiat Modarres University, Tehran, Iran. He graduated following the publication of his thesis titled “Capacity Planning Model for Vehicle Fleets on Intercity Transportation” in September 1997. He received the degree of Ph.D. as the top-ranked student in January 2014 with the dissertation topic of “Developing Sustainable Model of Hazardous Material Routing Problem under Emergency Environment” where the papers published by IATSS Research and Transport Policy journals.He has been professionally working at Road Maintenance and Transport Organization (RMTO.IR) since 1995 in the fields of road traffic safety and public transportation. His major executive experiences are based on working more than 26 years in different positions mainly the director and deputy of the Traffic Safety Department, head of Road Management Center, and deputy of Coordination and Planning for Fuel and Transport Management Center together with conducting many national projects.In addition to industrial experiences, he is currently teaching in industrial engineering, transportation planning, and e-business at universities at the position of director for the industrial engineering department at MehrAstan University, Guilan, Iran.
