On the reference of M/o Commerce conducted the following:  Analysis of the agreement with IMF and World Bank along with Tariff Rationalization Study, conducted by the Consultant to the M/o Commerce. Study on tariff rationalization and proposed tariff rates for four sectors viz. chemicals, paper and paper board, textile value chain and iron and steel. Recommended broad parameters, criterion and rational tariff structure.Invoked the function of improving competitiveness of the domestic industry in the Commission.Developed a detailed “check list” for ensuring compliance, transparency and improved governance in anti-dumping investigations.Undertook the following 5 studies in the Commission for the Govt.: Anti-export bias in tariffs. Reasons for decline in exports of Pakistan. Impact of exchange rate on Pakistan’s exports. Abuse / misuse of concessionary duty regime on raw materials / inputs. Improving competitiveness of the industry.Reviewed the Pak China FTA and identified the products which need to be excluded from the Agreement. Prepared criteria and parameters for the no-concession lists for FTAs with Turkey and Thailand and identified the list of products to be excluded from the said FTAs.conducted 29 ADD cases and conducted studies on more than 200 industrial sectors (detailed list of cases as per CV}.
