The Explorers Club is an international multidisciplinary professional society dedicated to the advancement of field research and the ideal that it is vital to preserve the instinct to explore. Founded in New York City in 1904, The Explorers Club promotes the scientific exploration of land, sea, air, and space by supporting research and education in the physical, natural and biological sciences. The Club’s members have been responsible for an illustrious series of famous firsts: First to the North Pole, first to the South Pole, first to the summit of Mount Everest, first to the deepest point in the ocean, first to the surface of the moon—all accomplished by EC members.

The coalition is united by the belief that running, walking, and fitness support a healthy culture, and should be accessible for everyone — regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexuality, immigration status, socioeconomic status, and ability. As the trial of Ahmaud Arbery’s killers continues, we are honored to share the voices of the RIDC’s co-chairs, Alison Mariella Désir and Chris Lampen-Crowell, as they tell the story of the coalition’s challenge in its early days, and their hopes for the future of running.

Executive Producer of ISAGEVR1, a historic Explorers Club flag expedition testing the NASA and RISD designed MS1 analog Mars suit in Iceland. Planned the strategy and content for partnerships along with managing all media assets and story design. Co-produced the expedition from the U.S. side and handled pre-production, remote logistics during the mission, and post media production along with social media and press coordination. The purpose of the first mission by the ISA was to conduct field research around the subglacial lake at the Grímsvötn volcano located on top of the Vatnajökull glacier. In partnership with Explorers Club, United Airlines, Unexplored Media, Iceland Space Agency, Arctic Trucks, Iceland ProGuides, Outdoor Research, Black Diamond Equipment, Zeal Optics, Skratch Labs, La Sportiva, and GoPro.
