Abbey Whitton Email and Phone Number
Recent graduate of the University of Newcastle, where I completed a Bachelor of Criminology with a focus on Psychology. Looking forward to 2025, I will commence postgrad psychology studies. I am deeply passionate about child and adolescent mental health and development, with a strong desire for working with individuals to achieve their psychological and emotional goals. As an advocate for neurodiverse individuals, I strive to foster understanding, inclusion, and equity in various settings. My interests lies in developmental psychology and educational neuroscience, with a focus on how brain development influences learning, emotional growth, and overall well-being. Moreover, I am interested to supporting individuals of all ages in reaching their unique goals and unlocking their full potential. As someone who loves learning, I prioritise CPD courses in my schedule. While they may not be essential for all students, I find it crucial to up-skill and broaden my knowledge, understanding, and skills. I’ve completed certifications in areas such as the well-being of children and adolescents, therapeutic approaches, effective communication with young people and their parents, co-regulation, specialised reproductive and sexual health training, understanding and prevention of dementia, and educational neuroscience. These courses not only deepen my knowledge but also significantly enhance my studies in psychology. In my current role, I am an Accounts and Administration professional at Real Balance Business Consulting, where I've spent six years working alongside an amazing team. In my role, I ensure accurate management of client funds, maintain data integrity, and effectively organise critical documents, all contributing to our team's success and operational efficiency.I also have experience working with children and adolescents, including those with disabilities, providing compassionate care and support while nurturing their individuality and confidence. By collaborating closely with young people and their parents, I optimise the creation of a supportive environment where every child feels valued and understood. This inclusive approach fosters creativity and curiosity, equipping young people with the essential skills to thrive and flourish in our ever-evolving modern world.Along with work & study, I am an avid traveller. Travel has given me a new appreciation for what we have and strengthened my confidence, leadership, independence and decision-making skills.
