Advise employed candidates seeking better jobs, unemployed candidates, individuals with disabilities, students seeking vocational guidance, and victims of domestic violence to achieve their employment goals. Facilitate the collaboration, and serve as liaison, between JFS and community members in response to high unemployment and challenging economic environment.Met in person and or/virtually with more than 100 candidates annually, setting specific goals based on their occupational needs. Collaborate with co-workers, therapists, and case managers to provide integrative services to clients to further assist their success on the job and in their daily lives. Enable candidates to successfully attain employment by providing vocational services, including:• Assess the candidates’ interests, skills, strengths, challenges, and occupational goals• Development and achievement of individual plans to meet employment objectives• Creation and revision of resumes, cover letters, and thank-you emails• Job search skills: networking, LinkedIn, and job boards• Interview preparation: conducting mock interviews - in person and virtual - and negotiating• Facilitate a weekly networking group with a focus on job-related topics and group support• On-boarding, coaching, and providing guidance to ensure the employers’ satisfaction • Arranged for speakers and presenters for lectures, panel discussions, and trainingsOrganized networking programs in the community for professionals seeking employment, providing guidance in presenting themselves to invited groups of 40-70 networkers.Invited NJHSA conference speaker: “The Importance of Emerging Adults Having a Job”Established the “Dress to Impress” program to provide clients with donated clothes and apparel. Met with clients individually to shop and assisted them to present themselves with confidence at interviews and on the job. Refer clients with disabilities to DVRS and advocate on their behalf.
