  • Hobbiton™ Movie Set
    Tour Guide / Maintenance
    Hobbiton™ Movie Set Nov 2016 - Apr 2017
    Hinuera, Waikato, Nz
What a dream! Working on the movie set for the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies, I was tasked with ensuring that the Hobbit Holes looked perfectly 'Shire-like' every morning. Following this, I was taking guided tours around the set, talking about the location, fun-facts about filming and of course, offering handy advice about where to take the best pictures. Tour group sizes could range from very intimate private tours (with just a couple of people) to large cruise-ship tour groups (up to 50 people). Alongside my day-to-day responsibilities, on request, I also conducted a thorough internal communications review for the company; delivering a report to the executive team outlining successes, challenges and recommendations for the individual departments and inter-department communications within Hobbiton. This information gathered feedback from employees on the ground used to give management an overview of the current internal communication situations and to highlight areas of potential improvement.
