This involved the development of human resource requirements, planning and out-year budget exceeding $300M for national critical infrastructure protection and energy assurance; serving as senior technical advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Infrastructure Protection, Homeland Security. Additional duties included management of technology development for advanced weapons systems.

These activities formulated the basis for the department of energy office responsible for homeland security support and coordination. • As science and technology manager for the DOE Office of Energy Assurance, performed the following duties: DOE representative on the White House Office ofScience Technology Policy Homeland Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection Committees supporting development of the National Strategy to Secure CyberSpace; writing National Critical Infrastructure Protection and Cyber Security plans in support of the Department of Homeland Security planning process; and development of plans and roadmaps for critical infrastructure protection.
