I live for the moment when a character design starts to work. After research and notes scrawled in my journal and after several fervent drawings in my sketchbook that just aren’t there yet, there is a moment where it begins to click, and the drawing in front of me matches an idea I have. From there, it is refining the concept until it jumps out from the page to create not only a design that works, but a character that has life! This creative process is a hallmark of my career, and something that brought me to study Communication Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University. I love thinking through a character’s personality before I even start to draw, researching to better serve my design process, and, of course, iterating concepts to arrive at a final result. While I specialize in fantasy character design, I happily embrace opportunities to contribute my design expertise to any creative projects. I’m on LinkedIn to explore character design opportunities for 2D or 3D animation and/or games. Message me here to start a conversation!
