About Abby Goulet

Through my studies at St. Kate’s University with a Bachelors in interpreting with an anticipated graduation of May 2021, I have obtained a firm grasp and understanding of English and American Sign Language. During my studies, I spent a semester at Gallaudet University as a special student where I was immersed in the ASL community. Here I learned how to navigate every day and complex situations in my second language and the differences between hearing and deaf cultures. My future plans and goals include video relay, freelance, obtaining my masters and eventually legal interpreting.

    Due to covid, this internship was based online and learned a lot skills related to technology. My main job while at ASLS was with an online photoshop class where the students learned how to create characters, objects and animations for either marketing or video game content. This class requited a lot of classifiers, fingerspelling, role shifting, affect and so much more. This was a great first experience in the world of interpreting.
