Student Direct Of Creative Media - Athletics Department
Beaufort, South Carolina, United States
Working alongside University Sports Informations Director Brackin Lambert, I had the privilege of helping to lead the Communications Department through new and creative video and photo production during a time of extreme change for the University. Not only was thisthe University’s second official year in the NCAA, the Sandsharks also played their innaugural Men’s and Women’s basketball seasons this year and I was able to help be a part of the pro- motion and success of these teams. Not only did I dedicate my time to be at every game, but I also worked overtime to practice my skills while creating content to successfully market each team-not only basketball. Before my entrance to the department, USCB’s social media videos were receiving on average ~500 views; now, a video produced by me received an average of ~7,000 views, with my highest viewed video receiving 14.7k views. The opportunity to direct players on media days and capture almost everyone of each team’s games/events, I was able to form connections with players, coaches, staff and even family. Being asked to hold a leadership position provided the experience of conducting interviews for new interns, creating preset and LUT packs for the 2024-2025 academic year, and co-writing a Communications departmental brand guide that will be utilized for years to come.
