Abby Lemmon, Otd, Otr/L Email and Phone Number
I am a clinical assistant professor in the doctoral occupational therapy program at Old Dominion University. I work with clients across the lifespan, from infants through adults, with a variety of neurological conditions (e.g. ASD, ADHD, CP, MD, BPI, SCI, CVA, etc.). I am passionate about integrating neuroscience into occupational therapy (OT) and believe that a deep understanding of the nervous system, along with the impact of nutrition on its function, can greatly enhance the development of client-centered treatment plans to improve health outcomes. In the OT classroom, I am dedicated to incorporating lifestyle modifications, particularly nutrition and meal planning, into the curriculum to prepare students to become future clinicians who prioritize these strategies in preventing chronic health conditions. Furthermore, in clinical/community practice, as well as integrating into OT education, I am eager to address the current service gap facing neurodivergent young adults and adolescents.I have a Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD) from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). I received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in June 2018 from Princeton University in the department of neuroscience.
