Currently, I call NURSING.com my workplace home. I am overjoyed and grateful to be part of a team who passionately care about the learning experience of nursing students, and supporting nursing instructors. I act in a sales position servicing enterprise contacts with the tools their students need for success no matter where they find themselves in their nursing journey. Despite performing well in school, my experience wasn't without major struggle and eventual growth. In the second semester of the nursing program, NURSING.com came to me via their Marketing Specialist, Tammy Haws. Working on the website pulled me from the depths of dread and instilled hope as I worked through a challenging nursing program with a learning difference. I share this experience as a way of leaning into vulnerability, reflecting on how a tough path can lead to victories (getting my dream job with an exceptional company), and as a means of hoping someone may benefit from its telling.My 1st career path started in the beauty industry teaching esthetics at a cosmetology school. Shortly thereafter, I joined Phytomer USA as a National Educator. I traveled and trained aestheticians, massage therapists and concierge staff about skin physiology, skincare products, and treatment techniques. I spent a year with the company as an Account Manager managing a 5 state (UT, ID, WY, MT, AK) territory. I started at Westminster College in 2016, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Nursing. During my education, I worked as a nurse's aide at Huntsman Cancer Hospital on the post-surgical unit. Later, I interned at Salt Lake City's VA Medical Center on the post-surgical floor. I was invited to join Sigma, and eventually graduated with honors (thanks to NURSING.com). Immediately following graduation, I entered the Critical Care Internship at the University of Utah. I spent 6 months rounding the various critical care units and emergency department (Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Burn Trauma ICU, Huntsman Cancer Hospital ICU) in the university system. At the completion of the internship I worked in the Cardiovascular ICU for a year. I transitioned to the Huntsman Cancer Hospital ICU, and eventually joined the ranks of the Infusion Clinic administering care and chemotherapy to outpatients. Most recently, I rejoined the beauty industry at Barr Aesthetics where I learned ways to incorporate my love for aesthetics with my skills and scope as an RN. This opportunity opened up a whole world where I can grow and gain expertise through practice and collaboration with my peers.
