My responsibilities spanned over the following area: Accounts Payable/Receivable - Checking and coding of incoming invoices for payment- Preparation of payments as required- Preparation of deposits to company bank accounts- Control and maintenance of banking software- Running and maintenance of MYOB/GRAF accounting packages- Liaise with Head Office regarding quarter end Financial Reports- Liaise with Auditors on financial/accounting matters as required- Payroll/annual budget preparation IT- Responsible for the development, maintenance and improvement of computerisedMethods with respect to all information systems. Marine Accounting - Budgeting and reporting of actual voyage and trade results and discrepancies versus budget. Continuously updating voyages for actual events and actual costs.- Ensure the economical terms and conditions agreed in any type of contracts enteredinto are adhered to including freight-invoicing and collection, bunker and currency escalation calculations. Settlement of commissions and all other voyage related issues.- Updating voyage management systems for all budgeted and actual voyage related income and costs. Continuous feedback to the Chartering department on actual versus estimated income and costs discrepancies.
