I am an Applied Languages graduate of the University of Limerick, majoring in Irish, French and Marketing. The make-up of this course focuses on linguistic, literature and language studies, but you can also choose to develop economic and marketing skills. Choosing this pathway allowed me to apply my languages into my business background, analysing its use in the everyday. A crucial part of the Applied Languages course is the opportunity to complete the Erasmus programme. For my Erasmus semester, I studied at the Université d'Angers (north-west of France) and continued my Marketing studies through the medium of French. I was also fortunate enough to complete my Co-Operative Placement in a language school (Glotte Trotters) located in Bordeaux, which allowed me to explore my interest in teaching.As of today, I am currently enrolled on the Professional Master of Education (PME) programme in UCC, enhancing my teaching skills in both Irish and French. I am looking forward to the next two years which will no doubt have its ups and downs, but worth it all in the end.
