I am a summer research student under Dr. Michael Kallos and Erin Roberts at the Pharmaceutical Production Research Facility. My project focuses on enhancing cell attachment to Bacterial Nanocellulose surfaces for use in tissue implantation and wound dressing applications. Additionally, I am contributing to a review paper exploring the use of directional freezing for polymer alignment in biomedical applications.I delivered a 10-minute oral presentation on my research at the Biomedical Undergraduate Research Symposium and the McCaig Summer Student Symposium. I also received an award from the Biomedical Undergraduate Research Program for a confocal microscope image I captured, showing Mesenchymal Stromal Cells growing on Bacterial Nanocellulose.
