My name is Abby Fahrubel and I am an Accountancy student at Auburn University. I am currently a junior and am planning to finish my undergraduate and masters by 2027! I am from the Chattanooga, TN area and consider that my home town. I started my college career at a small college in Rainesville, AL named Northeast Alabama Community College. There I was able to get most of my basics done before applying and committing to Auburn University in the spring of my Freshman year. My career has been very steadily growing as I have worked with many accountants and accounting firms. I started my career working for an accounting business by the name of Apex Accounting Solutions that services mainly the Chattanooga, TN area. From there it opened more opportunities to grow my knowledge and further my love for accounting. I then had a paid internship with a CPA firm by the name of Henderson and Gardner in Chattanooga, TN. I worked alongside them for the entirety of tax season in 2022 and learned so much about the tax side of accounting. I am currently employed by Auburn University working part time as an financial services assistant at the Auburn Univerisity Veterinary Hospital. This has been such a great learning experience as it adds the customer service element of accounting and financial work. I like to think of myself as a lifelong learner as I believe there is so much to learn in this world. You can never know too much!
