I taught a variety of dance classes to children ages 3-18 years, I also taught adult tap classes. I worked to provide my students with a well-rounded education that is applicable in and out of the dance studio. A focus of mine was teaching the importance of consent and body autonomy to my students from the first class they take with me. Additionally, when giving students corrections, I explained why these corrections are important and took time to educate them about human anatomy and explain some basic kinesiology concepts to them. I wanted to make sure my students could learn in the best way possible for them; I utilized visual charts and drawings and practiced American Sign Language signs in addition to using verbal cues to provide multiple ways of giving directions. My hope is that my classroom was a safe, positive, and accepting space for all my students.I communicated progress with students' parents and worked to build the confidence of my students by instilling that they were capable to accomplish difficult tasks.

As the Business Operations Intern at Housing and Residence Life, I worked to ensure that all information given to students and their families by the Student Services Ambassadors is accurate. I trained new Student Service Ambassadors in customer service, escalation practices, and knowledge of departmental and university policies. While training new staff members, I made sure that my approach was individualized as every person learns differently. I worked to ensure everyone on my staff felt welcome, appreciated, and supported. I developed my professional communication skills by monitoring and responding to emails sent to housing@ohio.edu. I worked on our Risk and Retention Management process, responding to students who had not been accessing their housing or dining plans and ensuring they were doing well and still residing on campus. I assumed other responsibilities when needed, such as supervising Housing Ambassadors during admissions events when other supervisors were not available; standing in the place of and/or training new Housing Ambassadors for room tours; interviewing prospective Housing Ambassadors; and directing traffic during move-in.I worked to update student accounts, including ensuring student athletes have a completed housing contract and an assigned meal plan. I conducted a variety of audits including an audit of every room on campus and ensuring the gender, capacity, and staff type matched between our two systems. Additionally, I conducted an audit of all housing exemptions submitted from 2020-2023.

While working as a Student Services Ambassador, I answered questions and concerns via phone calls and text messages from current, past, and prospective students and their families about Ohio University's Housing and Residence Life. If questions did not pertain directly to Housing and Residence Life, I made sure to direct the question to a department or person who would be able to accurately answer it. I utilized de-escalation techniques and assisted parents and students experiencing issues in finding a solution to their problems. I advocated for students while ensuring that housing policies and procedures were followed. I attended admissions events as a representative of Housing and Residence Life and discussed housing and dining requirements and options with prospective students, shared my experience as a student, and answered any questions the student or family may have. At spring admissions events, I was given the opportunity to help walk admitted students and their families on how to confirm their intent to enroll at Ohio University and sign up for Bobcat Student Orientation. I worked on other departmental tasks as assigned, including conducting an audit of the average cost of housing and dining at publicly funded universities in Ohio and MAC schools, helping to staff fall commencement, and updating student accounts in The Housing Director software.

In my time at Crystal Clinic, I worked to help define responsibilities of the Rehabilitation Technician role, including being the first technician to take the initiative of assuming the responsibility for ordering supplies for my clinic. I created an organization system to help the physical and occupational therapists streamline their process of gathering supplies while keeping the storage of all equipment in line with Joint Commission standards. I ensured that all areas of the clinic were clean, tidy, and ready for patient and therapist use.Other responsibilities of my role included inventory counts, keeping the clinic to Joint Commission standards, daily clinic logs, insurance verification calls, removal of modality equipment, assisting in demonstrating and cueing patients during exercises under direct therapist supervision, and providing an extra layer of support to the therapy staff. I also took pride in keeping an open line of communication between the three departments at the Kent clinic. I prepared 500+ patient charts for therapists to dictate their patient dropouts so that all charts were up to date for the new year.

Throughout my time as a Resident Advisor at Ohio University, I worked together with fellow staff members to oversee approximately 600 residents in a total of four residence halls (Wray House, Hoover House, Adams Hall, and True House). Additionally, I planned and hosted events for residents to help build and maintain a beneficial living community. These events were planned both independently and collaboratively with other members on my team. Events were both educational and fun in nature. I employed the use of bulletin boards as another way to provide educational content to my residents. I directly supervised 32 residents, and assisted them in building an inclusive, positive, and accepting environment on my floor section and floor.I adapted to the COVID-19 pandemic, and supported residents through their transition to living back at home by maintaining communication and setting up meetings to check-in.

I worked as a part of stage crew for an annual summer arts festival held in Lancaster, Ohio. In this time, I worked directly with the orchestra members, touring musicians, and their crew. Touring artists that I worked with included Dennis DeYoung of Styx, Martina McBride, Sara Evans, and the band Kansas.
