Creative leader with experience in-house, at agencies and as a consultant. I've led creative development of programs from the ground up for names like Hulu, Google, the NBA, Toyota and others. I'm always learning, and it's allowed me to build a wide-ranging skillset that I bring to any new role and project. I'll narrow the list down slightly here by tying it to three "objects" that help describe where I thrive. 1. A PEN (for the words). Copywriting, content development, instructional design, screenwriting, the list goes on. Writing is my first passion and continues to be the backbone for all I do.2. A MAGNIFYING GLASS (for the details). I've led strategy and creative direction on digital and live experiences for both consumers and employees.3. A LIGHTBULB (for successful collaboration). I'm comfortable as both a presenter and facilitator in front of consumers, colleagues or high-level executives. It's all about finding ways to inspire those "lightbulb" or "aha" moments with others.(If you want to keep reading, by all means continue below for some other specifics.)***I began my career with a creative writing focus, and soon found myself simultaneously entering the Learning and Development (L&D) world. I've seen firsthand how the skillsets needed for traditionally "creative" industries (like marketing/advertising) vs. L&D have more crossover than most realize. Both worlds consider how to present something to end-users in ways that feel fresh, relevant and memorable. Understanding this has driven me to become a leader in both areas, where I can adapt my skillset to match any role or project, no matter which "industry" it might belong to initially.For example, when leading creative direction or copywriting in a role, I may consider adult learning theory and retention strategies learned from L&D to ensure things "stick." On the other side, if leading a training or talent development initiative, I push to incorporate more creative strategies that boost engagement, result in better content and ultimately transform learning experiences from good to great.On top of everything else, my background in screenwriting (educational) and music (drummer + music nerd) provide me an additional creative perspective I bring to strategy and leadership.
