For the past 20 years I have played 2 primary, complementary roles: Executive Coach and Organizational Development (OD) consultant - and designer of professional learning programs for practitioners, as President/Founder of the Boston Facilitators and OD Roundtable, a professional association of coaches and consultants. I have created a vibrant community of members who love to share their knowledge and who enjoy learning together. I use my experience and expertise as a practitioner in creating innovative programs to train other consultants and coaches. CONSULTING: HR and business leaders consider me a trusted partner and value my collaborative approach and insights.COACHING: I coach leaders to enhance their communication and leadership skills and better engage their teams. My role is a trusted ally, sounding board and/or accountability partner. I work to help clients gain clarity about where they are stuck and how they might be getting in their own way. My clients say:1. You’re a good listener and you ask excellent questions. I’ve achieved more clarity in a half hour talking with you than in the last week. 2. You create an environment that’s safe for me to understand myself in a very deep way. You help me see my own behavior and my own reactions. 3. I leave feeling so empowered, you provide a different perspective. It’s been transformative for me. FACILITATIONI’m a master facilitator of meetings, retreats and team development. My facilitation is grounded in engaging people in collective inquiry and sense-making, which leads to collaboration and enhanced ability to solve complex problems.Recent feedback:1. The team retreat was wonderful; we’ve never had a meeting or conversation like that. Abby created an atmosphere where people felt safe opening up in ways that we haven’t experienced before.2. I am thrilled with Abby's support, insights, and impact. What's so unusual about Abby is her ability to quickly get to the root of an organizational issue and help teams communicate and problem solve. FACILITATING ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE“People don't fear change, they fear loss.” - Marty Linsky, Harvard professor. I help leaders address the human side of change, which creates a more fertile ground for implementing the change.TEAM COACHINGI help teams access their collective wisdom and their "team emotional intelligence" to help them work more productively together in order to solve complex problems. I also help them create “psychological safety” where people feel more comfortable speaking up or challenging the “groupthink”.
