I work with my team to administer the Low Income Weatherization Program Multifamily (LIWP-MF) with the California State Department with help from our partners, the California Housing Partnership Corporation and TRC.LIWP-MF puts California cap and trade dollars to work by providing incentives and rebates for energy efficiency upgrades and solar installations to multifamily building owners and residents. Specifically, the property owners serve low-income populations, including women's and homeless shelters, senior housing, farmworker communities and residents that are at or below 80% of the Area Median Income. My duties on the team include project intake and administration as well as project database management.

Analyzed District energy data to motivate, plan and execute efficiency projects, bridging the gap between District-wide energy goals and current operations.

Tiburon

This research investigated the production of domoic acid (DA), a neurotoxin, from the diatom Pseudonitzschia sp. The scope of the research was to understand environmental influences on DA production rates for strains endemic to the California coast.I conducted a literature review of on algal domoic acid production and synthesized DA production calculations and methodologies. I also organized and lead an experiment focusing on light regimes on large volume cultures.

Tiburon

Interned with SERC's Marine Invasions Laboratory and researched invasive species in the San Francisco Estuary. Aided in multiple long-term experiments focused on invasive species in fouling communities as well as surveyed species in estuarine intertidal systems. I conducted an experiment on littorinid grazing habits looking specifically at Littorina saxatilis, an invasive species and Littorina scutulata, the native species.

As a teaching assistant I aided in general education oceanography instruction where I evaluated and organized class work. I also helped to collect data on and evaluate student learning outcomes to understand active learning techniques. I prepared and presented mini-lectures with the goal of connecting course content to student's lives.
