 Review referrals identified by UNHCR partners in the field against the agreed PTA profiles in coordination with UNCHR ProtectionOfficer. Interview selected cases, to assess the protection situation and prepare the submission of the case. Write PTA Referral Forms each month and submit to ROPAN for quality control and response to any clarification of information requested. Document and file management of PTA cases, as per UNHCR’s general protection guidelines. Maintain an updated matrix of the cases flow and update the information in UNHCR data base. Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the PTA program. Support the process of the Child best interest determination BID with the child protection officer. Guide and train local and regional partners on case documentation and the management of individual cases, files and the collection of appropriate information.Coordinate with the PTA partners, ROPAN, UNHCR COS and IOM the logistics for the processing of the cases (pre-screenings, medical checkup, applicant's transfer, etc.). Ensure the integrity of the identification and processing stages with partners (anti-fraud & anti-corruption measures) Support the Protection Officer in the identification of protection alternatives for PTA cases within the existing UNHCR protection and assistance network in coordination with partners. Prepare analytical reports, statistics, updates and briefing notes on the performance and challenges of the PTA.

 Interview the asylum seekers/Person of concern cases from all presented nationalities. Assess cases at first instance, Appeal and re-opening stages for refugee Status determination. Assessing the presented cases, including credibility analysis, well-founded fear analysis, persecution and inclusion standards to the 1953 international convention grounds. Conduct research on country of origin information (COI) and other related subjects to RSD. Information, guidelines and standards accessible to RSD staff in the operation, which enhanced assessment for POC’s templates. Notify, pass legal advice and advocacy for asylum seekers and refugees, specifically regarding their protection concerns and statues in the asylum seeker's country. Assuming duties as the Focal point of communication and inquiries with POCs’ following up on needs and requirements, then make the necessary referrals to other units. Enhancing knowledge by reading SOPs, guidance and policy notes, and taking relevant trainings. Train and brief new protection stuff on UNHCR operation and mandate as per the SOPs. Reviewing assessment to implement comments in a professional manner. Support other unit in the field for Emergency situations by assessing protection concerns and creating best interest assessment. Support Resettlement unit for the USA and Canadian resettlement emergency program for Syrian refugees. Creating best interest assessments for venerable cases, including (survival due gender base violence/ child at risk /survival victim of torture/ women at risk etc.) Stay abreast of legal, political, security and other developments which impact on the protection environment, and in particular, on protection delivery through RSD. Systematically apply an age, gender and diversity (AGD) perspective on the performance of assigned functions.
