- Started and managed the Core VAS department; established development practices and workflow, set-up JIRA Issue Tracker and Gitlab source control, implemented Continuous Integration and Deployment pipelines. Lead the hiring and team building efforts to reach a team size of 10 engineers. - Revamped core telecom applications, notably SMPP Firewall, SS7 Firewall and SIP-based Ad-RBT application, refactoring their codebase and leading to higher stability, transaction count (TPS), lower latency, as well as load-balancing support and IP-transparency. - Drove the creation of mission-critical VAS products and their deployment for a number of Mobile Network Operators. April 2011 till December 2017, for Digicel Group, a large telecommunications operator group spanning over 25 countries: - Key member of their multinational development team at CME Offshore based in Beirut; joined the project’s team early in its start and participated in its growth. - Implemented a highly-performant set of re-usable Java libraries, a Common Framework for low-level communication APIs (for a variety of telecom nodes), completed improving and revamping a large subscriber provisioning/lifecycle application, maintained VAS services integrated at different locations and node setups, while having a single codebase. - Lead sub-teams for creating and maintaining fresh applications: Web Applications (Self-care, Online Bill Payment and Payment Gateway), VAS Products (Top-Up and Credit Transfer) and middleware services in a common SOA architecture, adhering to a detailed SDLC process (documentation, reporting, release notes), code quality and unit-test coverage. - Adopted Technologies include Java EE along with Guava/Apache libraries, Oracle DB and PL/SQL, Spring Framework, MyBatis, Tomcat, Linux, SOAP/REST and Telecom-related protocols, as well as integration with different charging and provisioning systems.January 2011 till April 2011, for Thompson Prolaw: - Working in a large team on the Prolaw application for the management of law firms, written in C# and WPF, and ported from Delphi code.
