Research Intern
Working as a research intern on "Lead(II) Ion Removal with a Touch of Elegance: Nitrogen-Rich Phosphazene Frameworks" was enlightening. We synthesized PT-COF, a novel COF designed to remove Pb2+ ions from water. Using advanced instruments like Rigaku MiniFlex 600 and Thermo Nicolet 6700 FT-IR Spectrometer, we characterized PT-COF's structure and properties.Our findings were promising: PT-COF exhibited rapid adsorption kinetics, reaching equilibrium in just twenty minutes, and boasted an impressive adsorption capacity of 740 mg.g-1 for Pb2+ ions. This highlights its potential as a selective and recyclable adsorbent for heavy metal removal, showcasing COFs' efficacy in environmental applications. This experience deepened my understanding of materials science and environmental chemistry, fueling my passion for research.I have gained familiarity with and used many different instruments and devices such as, Rigaku MiniFlex 600 (XRD), Micromeritics Tristar 2 Plus (Isotherm and surface area analysis), Thermo Nicolet 6700 FT-IR Spectrometer, Shimadzu UV-1800, Shimadzu HPLC.
